Nutmeg

Launched in Fall 2005, Nutmeg by Jazzmin has been a dream for owner Janis Kato.

A graduate in Fine Arts and self-taught fashion designer, Janis has specialized in hand painting, dip-dyes, airbrushing, and screen printing for the past 25 years.

In the decade of Jane Fonda, jazzercise, and cut off sweatshirts, the company Body Creations by Jazzmin was born. The first company to hand paint and airbrush on leotards, Jazzmin changed the workout world. With show rooms in major cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, the Jazzmin line was in department stores and shops across the nation.

It soon evolved into a Missy line with unconventional designs, fabrics, and treatments for a market lacking in style, innovation, and fit.

Jazzmin is currently being sold at trunk shows in the Southern California area with an online store launching Fall 2008.

Hazele Samson began working with Jazzmin in the Fall of 2004. She is a graduate from the University of California, Irvine in English and a graduate from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles with a Professional Designation Fashion Degree. She currently designs for the Nutmeg line.

Together, the idea of girls line that is special, unique, funky, and sweet inspired the two designers to create Nutmeg by Jazzmin, pieces that are as individual as every little girl.
